Aura emerged victorious in the Battle of the Bands.

Crop Over Bands battle it out at Sheraton

Sheraton Mall recently hosted a Battle of the Bands. This saw four Crop Over Bands showcasing their costumes with dramatic flair and stellar dance moves to gain the approval of the audience who gathered in the Court’s car park.

The field included Wild and Exotic, who were making their debut appearance in Barbados, Erupt, Eunoia and Aura Experience.

After the parade of spectacular costumes it was Aura, with the skilled Riddim Tribe dancers at the helm, who eventually clinched victory. They were the clear winners as the exuberant screams from the crowd were used as the measuring stick. With their theatrical presentation it was no surprise that they were the top choice.

Numerous giveaways were distributed throughout the night by DJ Blank, who operated not only as the deejay but also as the emcee for the night. The engaged audience just had to answer a selected question which was based on varying aspects of the businesses which are housed within the mall. Many of them definitely left that night knowing more about the shopping centre than when they first arrived.

Lucky persons received vouchers for discounts and also tokens including foot spas, Bluetooth speakers and headphones. Gifts were provided for all age ranges, however those distributed among the children elicited huge smiles.

Persons drawn to the spectacle were treated to entertainment from a cross section of performers. Those who appeared included bands Riserzs and Altered 5th, while individual performances came from soca artistes Kirk Brown and Altuh Ego. Local rapper Teff was the final performer showcased.

Booths were set up around the perimeter of the stage with various products and services being offered. Patrons who had made purchases over fifty dollars from the mall had the chance to win a 32-inch television from Courts. Mall-wide discounts were available. (ST)
