Collins first BWA winner

Hallam Collins is a much happier man today, after being presented with his iPad Mini 4 yesterday, as he became the first of five winners through the Barbados Water Authority’s Smart Meter Business Transformation project. The project, which is being managed by Cowater International Inc., has seen the Authority undertaking a major overhaul and update of its Customer Information System (CIS), and it was through this process that Collins was selected.

With the BWA conducting door-to-door surveys in a bid to collect all relevant information, customers have a chance to be drawn as winners of the tablets over a five-month period, and during yesterday’s presentation ceremony at the Authority’s new headquarters, Collins said that he was happy to have his name be the first.

“It feels good and I am deeply moved to be a part of the presentation. I want to thank the organisers.”

With the new CIS allowing for benefits such as faster response times to customer requests, more accurate, timely and easier to understand bills, and a wider range of bill payment options, customers also have the option to update their information at kiosks in malls and at the BWA’s customer service centres, as well as to mail in the new information.
