CIBC FirstCaribbean supports soroptimist with special IWD donation
The community outreach programme of Soroptimist International Barbados got an extra boost with a special donation in honour of International Women’s Day.
The service club was presented with three large boxes of items, mainly toiletries and bath supplies, donated by staff of CIBC FirstCaribbean. In addition to the
items, CIBC Reinsurance Company made a financial donation to the organisation.
The hand over was done by Carolyn Lewis, the bank’s deputy managing director, Human Resources who said the staff were delighted to support the good work of the club.
“We were overwhelmed by the enthusiasm of our staff and delighted that many of our staff were so eager to get involved with this project and to give back.”
President of Soroptimist International Barbados, Janelle Clarke said her organisation was extremely grateful to the staff of the bank for their support.
“I want to thank the staff of CIBC FirstCaribbean and CIBC Reinsurance for your very generous donation which will go a long way in assisting the persons that we work with.”
Over the course of one week collection boxes were placed at the bank’s business centre and regional head office in Warrens where staff could make their donations.
