BWA Starts Shutoffs

Due to low water levels at the Barbados Water Authority’s Golden Ridge reservoir, which services customers in the parishes of St. Joseph, St. Andrew, St. Thomas and St. John, they will be initiating a shut off schedule, which is to commence from today until further notice.

Speaking during a press conference that took place at the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources early yesterday morning, the Minister of Energy and Water Resources, Wilfred Abrahams attributed these low levels to low rainfall levels.

“In an effort to ease the hardship being experienced in the affected areas, the BWA will be amending the present shut off schedule in the St. George areas commencing Friday, September 27th, 2019,” he said.

On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, the areas in Applewaites to Golden Ridge will experience the shut off from 9am to 4pm and then from 9pm to 4am.
