Bougainvillea Beach Resort takes leadership position in sustainable practices
IN AN important milestone, Bougainvillea Beach Resort has achieved EarthCheck Certified Platinum status, through EarthCheck, the world’s leading environmental management and professional services group for the travel and tourism industry.
This EarthCheck Certified Platinum status is a direct reflection of Bougainvillea Beach Resort’s commitment and dedication to having an energy efficient and green resort over the past 12 years.
Dawn Kirton, Operations Manager of Bougainvillea Beach Resort, said, “Our team at Bougainvillea Beach Resort is passionate about our mandate to maintain the property as an earth friendly and green resort. Therefore, we are consistently looking for ways to save energy, preserve our water resources and protect our air quality.”
She cited the resort’s use of organic cleaning solutions, proactive checks on burst pipes and dripping taps, and switching off lights when rooms are not in use, as some of the many examples of initiatives implemented and maintained at the resort by all staff members.
“I must applaud each staff member for their commitment and contribution, which has resulted in this us winning this coveted award,” Kirton added.
