Books presented to St. Stephen’s Nursery School

Reading is essential for a child’s success, it is important because it develops the mind. The mind is a muscle that needs exercise, teaching young children to read helps them develop their language skills and also helps them learn to listen.

For the first time Canadians Ms. Lasita Springer, Mrs. Enita Lowe and Emerson Lowe made a presentation of the books to the students of St. Stephen’s Nursery in the school hall.

Accepting the donation on behalf of the Principal of the school was Senior Teacher Ms. Patricia Gooding.

Mrs. Enita Lowe said, “ I am happy that we decided to donate these books. It is very important we get the children reading from an early age.”

She continued, “This is definitely an initiative we wish to continue in the near future because the more we get children reading and enjoying books the better their imagination would develop, therefore the children would be able to learn faster.” (TRW)
