Bigger, better Agrofest for 2017

This year of Agrofest promises to be an even bigger and better showcase of products and services from the Rural Development Commission (RDC) clients, the RDC booth and the exhibition in general.

These promises came from the Acting Director of Rural Affairs at RDC, Annette Clarke, during the RDC Training and Information Meeting for Agrofest 2017 yesterday morning in RDC headquarters. Clarke revealed that this is the showcase’s 13th year, while noting that the RDC has been a committed partner in the staging of Agrofest from the inception.

She explained that the event is one that should be, and is considered, important because it plays a role in “the economic development of our country”. She added that it not only serves as a commercial activity between locals and tourists but also as “a great social integrator” for families, new friendships and business relationships. It was also pointed out that it is an excellent source of learning for the vast number of students that attend and gather information which then helps them with school projects, CXC (Caribbean Examination Council) exams as well as knowledge in general. Regardless, it is an extremely beneficial event for everyone involved.

“All of us here and our families look forward to this event staging for one reason or another. Whether it be to buy household plants or seedlings, locally produced aromatherapy products, handbags, clothing, art, aquarium fish or to just let the little ones enjoy seeing the baby animals and having a grand time playing,” she said.
Clarke noted that it is an event that a large number of people usually attend and divulged that she wanted the clients present to take advantage of the opportunity that will be afforded to them for the weekend of Agrofest.

“We want to arm you with the tools to present the best possible display of your items, understand how to get your product advertised and marketed and ensure that customers will return to do business with you because they know how to find you,” she concluded.
