Acting General Manager of the Barbados Water Authority, Dr. John Mwansa, as he spoke to members of the press.

Additional six water tankers being prepped for full use

THE Barbados Water Authority is currently in the process of sanitising six brand new water tankers, so they can be put into use to supply water to persons in St. Joseph and other parishes experiencing water woes.

Acting General Manager of the Barbados Water Authority, Dr. John Mwansa, indicated the above as he spoke briefly with members of the media gathered yesterday at BWA Headquarters, The Pine, St. Michael, for an initiative orchestrated by Prayer Warriors International.

Following a similar move in September, Founder of Prayer Warriors International, Evangelist Courtney Selman and others in his 13-year ministry gathered just outside the doors of the BWA Headquarters, to pray for the Management and Staff of the Authority, after which they made their way to a number of parishes acutely affected by water shortages, to supply residents with water.

“The water tankers are here. We are currently disinfecting them, so that when we put them into use, they will be sanitary. So we should be (completing) this sanitation (process) by this weekend and then we will be ready to deploy the six additional tankers that have come and are ready for serving the public,” the BWA’s acting general manager stated.

“We are also working on commissioning the second borehole at Sweet Vale and once that comes into play, that should help us substantially because that will add an additional half a million gallons into supply,” Mwansa added.

He meanwhile endorsed the initiative spearheaded by Prayer Warriors International, noting that any effort to assist affected residents is welcomed.

“We welcome any support that will help in addressing the issue for the residents that are suffering water outages and if Prayer Warriors will help, we welcome them and we are thankful for the initiative,” Mwansa said.
