33 new ‘Bank On Me’ candidates announced

 

Bank On Me is an excellent opportunity to gain experience as well as a great opportunity to get your business out there in the market, even if you don’t win.
This came from Eddie Abed, Chief Judge of ‘Bank on Me’ and Managing Director of Abed’s while speaking at the announcement of the 33 new Bank on Me candidates yesterday at the Cave Hill School of Business.
 
Abed advised the 33 candidates to, “don’t be afraid to fail, but be passionate about your endeavours and above all else enjoy your work. You must be customer centric”.
He also stated that, “This is a television competition and you will have access to many, do not miss the opportunity to inform and attract these viewers to your endeavours. You are on the cusp of a new revolution … We expect nothing less but excellence from these new candidates.”
 
Blue Waters Productions, in association with Scotiabank, announced 33 new contestants for the third Season of Bank on Me at an event entitled ‘The Journey Begins’.
Executive Producer/Director of Bank On Me, Alison Saunders said, “There was a great response to a recent call for entries with 40 entrepreneurs applying for the show of which 33 were selected for the training and development phase from April to July, after which 24 will be selected for an in-studio pitching phase with the judges. They comprise of businesses which represent a variety of areas that include cultural industries, agri-business, innovation, technology, services, hospitality and manufacturing.”
 
Abed, who is also President of the Barbados Chamber of Commerce and Industry stated, “I am excited about this crop of candidates. Some of them represent focal areas based on priorities that have been set by the government to be critical to our economic development. With a new format and special incentives for these areas, I am looking forward to see how they will perform throughout the show.” (NB)
