Sagicor set to host Financial Fair tomorrow
Barbadians will have the opportunity to learn more about budgeting, investing and adequately planning for retirement.
This is because these topics and more will be explored when Sagicor hosts its first Financial Fair this Saturday.
In promoting the event which will take place at Sagicor’s Collymore Rock location, Executive Vice-President and General Manager, Edward Clarke, said individuals stand to benefit greatly from the advice that will be shared.
“I think more and more, Barbadians are realising the value of fiscal prudence in managing the cost of living and helping them to prepare financially for difficult times,” he said.
“We find it is important to provide a forum to give sound financial advice and we are hoping that with this fair, we can offer that assistance and guidance. It is one step in the process but hopefully a step that they can build on. We want to be able to help individuals and families at whatever stage they may be at in their financial journey.”
He added that financial literacy also offered benefits for the country itself.
“Financial literacy empowers the individual, their community and the economy. It has also proven to be a useful tool in promoting further stability and development in the financial system.”
In addition to one-on-one advice from Sagicor’s Advisors, the Sagicor Financial Fair will feature seminars throughout the day on topics such as “Protecting your Future”, “Home Ownership” and “Investments.”
The fair will also double as a Career Fair, granting prospective applicants the opportunity to interact with Sagicor’s Human Resources team. The Fair is free to the public and one lucky patron will gain an opportunity to win $1000 in Sagicor Mutual Funds. The event will also feature a Kids Zone and free health check-ups from Sagicor’s Mobile Medical Unit.
