Rush Cutter could be the one to beat in today’s feature

11/21/2009

THE William ‘Bill’ Marshall DFC SCM Memorial Two Year-Old Classic Stakes and Trophy will be the highlight on the second day of the Barbados Turf Club’s (BTC)
third racing season which resumes at the Garrison Savannah today starting at 12:30 p.m.

The feature event on today’s 10-race card, the race is for West Indian-bred two year-olds going 1570 metres.

Rush Cutter looks like the one they will all have to beat, while good performances are expected from Island Lad and Savannah Sun.

Mocco has the experience, and looks like the one to lead them home in the day’s first race. Heavenly Angel and Yours Truly, both racing for the first time, could be in the mix-up at the finish.

Captain Sully, Jihad and Cinci Dansatori could be the ones to follow in race two.

In race three the ones to follow could be, Proud Bajan, Gold Digger, Bram Stroker, and Ring Time.

Should South Sea run to his true ability, he could be a surprise winner in race four at long odds. However, Fire Hill, Soca Queen and Double Dagger have all been showing consistent form.

Race five seems like a lottery trying to get the correct combination in order to win the Superfecta which carries a guaranteed payout of $7 000 to a single winner. This is one of the most competitive races of the day. Midnight Waltz, Que Pasa, Randy Andy, Who’s At Home and Tom Dooley could be the ones to follow.

In race six, Bloumberg must have an outstanding chance with the light weight of 107 pounds. Spicey Tiger, Hayayan Tropic, Words Of The Wise and Vandross could be her dangers.

No Spin Zone looks like the one to beat in race eight. Just Jiving, Uncle Jerry and Batista could be the ones picking up the shorter end of the purse.

In race nine, all eyes will be on Areutalkintome, who returns for the first time since winning the triple crown.

Going 1100 metres today and having to give Sweet Enough 13 pounds will certainly prove how good he is at this distance. Also in here are, Dark Night, All Aboard, and Janaki, who can make the pace of the race very hot and set up a very exciting finish.

Race ten could be a fight to the finish between, Irish Thunder, Gregory’s Girl, Gin For Me and Pretty In Red.
