What does it all mean?
6/24/2012
Barbadians need to understand the significance of what they celebrate and the nature of such celebrations. I have heard a Catholic priest who would have encouraged people to join the Crop Over festival now crying foul of the lewd and sensual way this festival is heading, especially the costumes worn by the revellers, the women being the culprits, such costumes are tantamont to pornography.
Barbadians are deeply involved in a festival that worships a deity call BACCHUS, from which the word BACCHANALIA is derived. In doing my research, Bacchus is a Roman deity of wine and intoxication/drunkenness. Along with such behaviour comes sexual perversion, so I am not at all surprised at the almost nakedness of the revellers and the tight connection with the binge drinking which we are seeing across Barbados.
There is also a hidden part of this festival that demands blood or human sacrifices. Have we so soon forgotten the Foreday Morning tragedies and the stabbings at these events? Now the sacrifices are through car accidents. This thing is serious; people feteing all night and driving.
History states that in the year 186 BCE the Roman Senate, because the festival got out of hand, had it stopped. Are we not facing the same thing? Barbadians must know that God hates idolatry and he is also against these type of celebrations.
Hear the scriptures Galatians chapter 5:19-21 “Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, haterd, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like; of the which I tell you before, as I have told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.”
May the Lord open your eyes to the truth.
