Finding the good

6/22/2012

A section of the print media wanted to know what can be done to prevent the posting of graphic accident scenes on Social Networks via the Internet, Blackberry etc.

There is concern in some quarters about the practice, but I would want to say like St. Augustine of Hippo, Frederick William Robertson, Arthur Edward Waite, Shelby Coffey III, Willie Stark and others, “out of evil comes good”.

The “good” to which I refer is one depicted in motorists reducing speed on our busy and overcrowded roads and thereby reducing the number of vehicular accidents and loss of life.

It makes no sense burying our heads in the sand like an ostrich pretending that all is well. I am sure that the posting of these gruesome, grisly and graphic accident scenes will save many lives in the future and can be interpreted as altruism.

Out of evil comes good if we are prepared to learn from the mistakes of others.
